Overview

Performs a variety of routine general maintenance repair and grounds keeping tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Move and assist in the installation of furniture and equipment.
  • Perform routine carpentry and building maintenance/repair.
  • Operate Facilities vehicles as required.
  • Understand and follow all federal and state safety requirements and attend the required training.
  • Perform seasonal grounds maintenance duties such as snow removal when needed, brush cleanup, ensure all storm drains are debris free, and ensure all roof drains are debris free.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

 

Education: 

  • High school diploma or its equivalent or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.

 

Experience: 

  • Prior related experience preferred.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Ability to learn general maintenance repair and grounds keeping tasks.
  • Must be computer literate with ability to utilize Microsoft Office at an intermediate level and the ability to learn and utilize specific higher education programs and systems.
  • Ability to learn and apply office practices, procedures, policies, and regulations that are essential to the position.
  • Valid Driver’s license required.

 

Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations: 

 

Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.

Works under all weather conditions. Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50lbs. Must be available to work overtime, evening or weekend hours as requested.
