Overview

The Radiologic Technology Program at Brookdale Community College seeks applicants for a full-time tenure track position in Radiologic Technology to begin in Fall 2024. The Radiologic Technology program offers courses leading to an AAS degree in Radiologic Technology and prepares students for entry-level positions in hospitals or comparable facilities. Upon completing the program, students can sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists examination in Radiography and receive state licensure in Radiologic Technology. The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology accredits the program. The successful candidate will conduct classes, supervise clinical experiences, and plan and teach laboratory experiences, including laboratory skills and simulations. May be required to teach selected HESC classes as well. In addition to excellent academic credentials and subject area knowledge, candidates will bring to the College a love of teaching, an enthusiastic desire to assist students, an eagerness to contribute to the Brookdale Community College community, and a passion for lifelong learning.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a variety of courses in Radiologic Technology, including classroom content, clinical experiences, and laboratory experiences specific to skills and simulations.
  • May also be required to teach selected HESC courses as well.
  • Engage in Department, Institute, and College initiatives, assessment projects, curriculum development, articulation agreements, and advisory committees.
  • Participate in shared governance and incorporate instructional technologies as appropriate to improve student knowledge attainment.
  • Willingness to participate in marketing and promoting the program with college departments.
  • Maintain competence in teaching and discipline through professional development activities.
  • Meet with and assist students regarding comprehension of course content.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

 
Education:
  • NJ licensure in Radiologic Technology.
  • Master’s degree in Radiologic Technology, or a Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology AND a Master’s degree in a related field, or an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology AND a Bachelor’s degree in a related field PLUS a commitment to attain a Master’s degree in a related field within the first three years of employment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to teach Radiologic Technology offerings across the curriculum.
  • Experience in using technology in the classroom and collaborative learning.
  • Evidence of experience in developing, integrating, and evaluating simulation-based activities.
  • Evidence of well-developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated willingness to maintain skills as technology changes and to collaborate with colleagues to teach classes in various modalities – face-to-face, online via the College’s LMS.
  • Commitment to supporting an inclusive environment on campus.
  • Evidence of respect for and an understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs.
  • Evidence of understanding about and commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college.

 

Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations: 

 

College teaching experience. Five years of clinical experience. Evidence of teaching as a prime career focus. Evidence of engagement in a professional organization. Work and or teaching experience specific to Radiologic Technology skills lab and simulation.

Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.

(Faculty Members teaching extra courses or working additional hours during the academic year and in the summer receive additional compensation.)
