The Coordinator assists the Director in administering department activities, providing technical operations, coaching assistance, providing office support, and coordinating events. The position also communicates, coordinates, and executes a variety of tasks/projects as assigned by the Director.

Technical Operations

• Operate A/V broadcasting equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues that may arise.
• Perform routine maintenance and installs on gaming PCs and equipment ensuring full functionality and latest, compatible software updates.
• Troubleshoot for any basic system issues with technology in the arena, including gaming and audio/visual systems, broadcasting, and production technology, and work with OIT to address advanced issues.

Coaching Assistance

• Assist with coaching responsibilities to ensure teams are prepped, organized, and ready to compete.
• Oversee and assume the coach role of teams that do not have a designated coach.
• Guide and assist coaching staff with administrative procedures including procurement requests, travel reconciliation forms, team travel arrangements, lodging, meals, etc.
• Maintain communications with team representatives and officials to confirm the status of each event.
• Maintain an ongoing knowledge of and ensure compliance with NJCAAE rules.
• Provide other support functions as needed.

Office Support

• Operate the front desk/reception area, including answering phone calls, providing information and assisting guests, taking payments.
• Follow opening and closing procedures for the respective shift.
• Supervise part-time employees and student workers.
• Oversee office operations and ensure smooth functioning in the Director's absence.

Event Coordination

• Assist the Director in coordinating booking, planning, and running events for internal and external parties.
• Foster and establish partnerships with potential external clients looking to book Esports Arena for use.

Education: 

• Associate degree required or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.

Experience: 

• Two years of related experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to operate gaming consoles and PC gaming equipment across multiple platforms.
• Positive and engaging demeanor with experience in customer service.
• Must be able to have a flexible schedule with shifts during weekend and night hours.
• Knowledge and experience of Esports games such as League of Legends, Overwatch, Rocket League, Valorant, Super Smash Bros, and similar games.
• Ability to work with diverse populations including faculty, staff, students, and community members.
• Computer literacy skills at an intermediate level with the demonstrated ability to utilize and apply Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as specialized software programs and computer applications.
• Ability to use Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
• Ability to learn and apply office practices, procedures, policies, and regulations that are essential to the position.
• Ability to travel within the county and state.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations: 

• Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities. 
• Occasional local travel is required. Night and weekend coverage is necessary. Scheduled shifts will require weekday night coverage with adjustments being made if weekend coverage is needed. Must be able to work closing shifts that vary by semester. The workweek is 37.50 hours/week within the hours of the office operation as scheduled by the Director.
