Overview

Provide technical and training support to students and faculty for academic computing needs.

Responsibilities

Provide first level contact and convey resolutions to user issues. These include, but are not limited to, learning management system (LMS) and ancillary packages (i.e., proctoring software, video hosting platform, plagiarism detection software), and productivity software.

  • Properly escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other Teaching & Learning Center staff to ensure dissemination of information and effective problem solving.
  • Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions.
  • Stay current with technology tools and trends and display advanced troubleshooting skills.

 

Make recommendations and provide support for applications and tools to students and staff.

  • Provide classroom learning support for new and specialized technology tools (i.e., mobile devices, classroom technology).
  • Provide support for faculty in mastering individual devices, including mobile devices, and for new technology integration.
  • Provide drop in services for individualized assistance to faculty and staff.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as directed.

 

Create learner user support and information materials (i.e. videos, documentation).

  • Create and edit newsletters and other print documents.
  • Create and edit software tutorials and learning objects.
  • Prepare technical documentation.
  • Create events and forms.

 

Support curriculum management software.

  • Enter data specific to programs and courses.
  • Organize program and course data for academic catalog.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

 

Education: 

  • Associate’s Degree in in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.

 

Experience: 

  • Experience in LMS software and the integration of technology into instructional and network technologies.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Computer literacy skills at an intermediate level with the demonstrated ability to utilize and apply Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as specialized software programs and computer applications.
  • Ability to learn and utilize essential software tools, including, but not limited to, SharePoint, Survey Monkey, Camtasia, and Adobe Creative Suite. Creative Suite is Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate, Captivate and more, allowing for learning object creation and production for mobile and web delivery.
  • Ability to perform course construction and content copying in the learning management system.
  • Ability to learn to become high level user of new software programs quickly.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and faculty.
  • Must be able to travel locally.

 

Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations: 

  • Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities. 
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the institutes and students.
