Overview

Provide direct support and services to students and teaching staff in the ABE Program. Facilitate student admission, assessment and overall program compliance. Meet with students and instructors regularly for program implementation and compliance with federal and state NRS regulations and guidelines. Serves as a liaison between the instructors and Program Manager.

Responsibilities

ABE Coordination

  • Provides guidance to the instructors to ensure resource material and curriculum are available to support students attaining educational gains as mandated by Federal Guidelines.
  • Provides direction to ABE instructors in strategizing course offering and curriculum to ensure educational gains are made. Periodic meetings with teachers and supervisors on administrative detail, curriculum and other related matters

 

Student Orientation

  • Assist with orientations including pretesting, completion of intake forms, goal setting and student interview.
  • Assist with maintaining and monitoring the student waitlist. Assist students with setting up the GED.com account.  Schedule all GED tests with the Brookdale Testing Center.

 

Student Assessment

  • Monitors and measures student’s progress and attendance to ensure compliance with funding requirements of biweekly input of student attendance hours in the LACES Reporting System. 
  • Assist with periodic assessment of students to ensure compliance with Federal and State.
  • Provide LACES data reports to the Program Manager and Administrator as needed. Review post testing results to assess student’s educational gains as outlined by the Federal NRS Core Indicators. Advise students of post-secondary opportunities.
  • Ensure that accurate student attendance and educational gains are recorded in the LACES Reporting System. Monitor Tables 4 and 5 in the LACES Reporting System.

 

Professional Development

  • Attend workshops, seminars and online webinars as required by federal and state guidelines for professional development compliance.

 

Monitor computer loaner program

Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to speak Spanish preferred.
  • Required to exercise excellent judgment and react resourcefully under varying conditions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be computer literate with ability to utilize Microsoft Office at an intermediate level and the ability to learn and utilize specific higher education programs and systems
  • Ability to learn and apply office practices, procedures, policies, and regulations that are essential to the position.
  • Ability to travel within the county and state.

 

Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations: 

  • Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities. 
  • Local travel between the Lincroft and the regional locations is required.
