Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or, in limited circumstances, the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
- Prior tutoring experience desirable.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements
- Proven ability to work effectively with students of varying ages, cultures, and knowledge base.
- Proven ability to communicate ideas, principles and concepts effectively in individual or small group settings.
- Computer literacy skills at an intermediate level in some or all of the following: Microsoft Office, procedural programming, object-oriented programming, databases (SQL preferred), and data structures.
- Knowledge of information research strategies.
- Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and faculty.
- Must have ability to travel to other sites as needed.
- Fluency in Spanish is required.
Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations:
- Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.
- Positions are available for both day and evening hours.
